These incredible home offices are designed to be as beautiful as they are important to our workflow.
But what makes a workspace both efficient and offers the best in design? We’re exploring top home offices and why they work!
Dark Built-ins In A Small Open Office Space
ABD Studio created an elegant office space in what might otherwise have been thought of as a small section of a room, proving that with a smart use of space you can create an incredible corner office!
Architecturally beautiful built-ins mean both open and closed storage, and the dark color draws the eye and defines this little section for the desk. Use of an area rug and an armchair in place of the traditional desk chair emphasizes comfort in this office area.
A Girly & Glam Open Space Office
Who says you need a dedicated room? Anum Tariq’s office is right out in the open in the living room of her small San Francisco apartment.
Her use of black, white, and gold make for a chic glam office space. She expertly weaves the same style and colors throughout the living room and office making it all feel cohesive as a single room.
But it is the gallery wall that really grabs our attention and makes this small space feel incredibly luxe. Tour the full office and Anum’s home here via The Every Girl.
A Bedside Secretary Desk
This gorgeous space reminds me that even when you have no office, you can create a workspace anywhere! Interior design guru David Jimenez makes good use of a unique secretary desk which also doubles as a bedside workspace.
This would serve as the perfect workplace in a guest room, living room, or a unexpected corner of the home.

The Dining Room Meets Library Meets Office Conference Room
Emily Clark actually uses her dining room as an office, and the best part is the blending of the design so it reflects the charm and usefulness of a library, all while looking like a cozy conference room. She just needs to remove a few dining chairs, and presto, it looks like a dedicated office space! By the way, who says you have to use an office chair? If a dining chair or armchair works better for you and your space…go for it!
Add wall-to-wall bookshelves, with either wallpaper or a painted pop of color to add depth. This becomes both an accent wall to define the space, and a ton of storage!
Turn A Closet Into An Office
A wasted closet space turned into an office graces my living room and gives us a much needed workspace. A couple simple kitchen drawers and cabinet make up the base, and easy built-in shelves make for attractive storage.
The beauty of this small home office space is that the doors can be closed to hide away any work station mess, and when tidy it opens to the living room adding to the moody design of the space.
Antiqued Accents For A Small Workspace
This home office design is inspiring from the ceiling to the floor with. The molding and wallpaper gives visual interest while the desk decor remains simple and basic.
Not every room needs a full home office layout with dedicated office furniture… a simple desk where you can open up a laptop is perfect for some.
Alisa of a Glass of Bovino opts for stately pieces and antiques to dress her workspace. Consider using a dresser in place of a filing cabinet to store office supplies and paperwork.
A Show Stopping Desk
Mallory of Style Your Senses shows the power of a statement desk to create a stunning work room! She went with a feminine color palette and furnishings that blend the work area seamlessly into the surrounding décor.
Adding artwork behind the computer draws your attention away from the monitor and makes for a stylized space. Desk lamps are important whether you have natural light or not, but here we see the smart use of a table lamp in place of the traditional task lamp.
Smart & Stylish Kids Homework Station In A Corner
All it takes is a small corner to make magic! Shelving above means lots of room for homework essentials, art supplies, and more.
