Have you ever found yourself at a stand still in your decorating with no idea what to do next? Whether it is because you aren’t sure what pieces would look best in the space, or what would meet your practical needs, or just because you’ve been distracted by life…it is easy to get off track.

I have been stalled on my bedroom makeover for two years now. Don’t get me wrong, I firmly believe in taking your time to complete a space. It is important to wait for those ideal pieces to come along at just the right price point, and that takes time. However there are those spaces that never get finished (or organized) simply because you’ve gotten distracted with other things and accustomed to living in the dysfunctional space. Unfortunately the latter is the case with my bedroom makeover stand-still. In moments like this, the best way to renew vision, inspiration, and motivation is to find one item that best defines your intentions for the space. You need an inspiration piece. [/left]

For my master bedroom, the item that finally got me out of my decorating rut was this stunning Tuxedo Semi-Flush Three Light fixture from the Echelon Collection at Build.com. The black shade has that chic modern transitional style I originally sought for the space,  and the crystals offered that touch of elegance and glamour I want in my bedroom. This would be a piece I could decorate around!
Plus it provides that practical element I require of every pretty item… I was in desperate need of adequate lighting. The broken ceiling fan and light with removed blades left much to be desired, and this new fixture filled that need gorgeously!
I loved seeing this new Tuxedo fixture up in the space. Then the sun set and I switched it on, and ooooooh baby! It was perfection! The way the soft light shimmered off the crystals and bounced through the room immediately brought romance into the space. How could I not consider that element in a master bedroom? Of course! Soothing, comfortable, and romantic when the sun goes down!
The moment the new fixture went up I could immediately envision the other pieces that would bring this space together. From the exact color and style I need for a DIY headboard, to my ideal gallery wall, to the furniture that will replace my broken dresser…I could finally see what I needed to complete this space.
In the past two years I certainly made strides with my tiny master bedroom, it is after all probably the tiniest “master” bedroom known to man. Originally used by the previous owners as an office with a golf theme, it took a little doing to rid the space of the golf and make it a little more like a bedroom. However there is MUCH more that desperately needs to be accomplished before the space looks and functions like a sweet dream.
This is what the space looked like before…
And here is a sneak peek of what it looks like after, and you can see the entire completed space here!
