This week is a special treat, because I’m sharing my experience at High Point Market! So far, the One Room Challenge has coincided with High Point Market both in the spring and in the fall…and at exactly the right time to get a ton of inspiration for my own One Room Challenge remodels!
Hey guys! I’m Ursula, and I’m turning this messy old shed into a stunning garden house!
This will be both a beautiful potting shed, plus artists studio, with an attached greenhouse and outdoor deck area. All located off a charming potager garden.

What Exactly IS High Point Market?
It is the largest furnishings industry trade show in the world! It occurs once in the fall and once in the spring, in High Point, North Carolina.
High Point Market isn’t open to the public, only to trade industries. Designers and shop owners come to shop/obtain product, attend seminars, and more. Furnishing companies who make everything for the home have showrooms and come as exhibitors sharing the latest and greatest home products and design trends. And writers or design bloggers like myself come as press to cover the entire experience!
It is an amazing experience with miles and entire city blocks worth of showrooms to tour. Market usually runs for 5 days, and trust me, you need more than a day to really get a feel for market…there is just so much to see and do, you couldn’t possibly scratch the surface in a day.
Loloi Showroom
Market was a great opportunity to peruse many of my One Room Challenge sponsors, and Loloi’s showroom was a beautiful maze of hanging rugs!
We’re talking cutting edge design in area rugs… I felt one of the most incredibly soft rugs ever. As in, I never imagined a rug could be THAT soft!! It was a printed rug, and didn’t even look like it. My mind was blown!
Of course, I had to check out Loloi’s outdoor rug collections, because that is what I ordered for my One Room Challenge. There were some beautiful choices, and while I’m happy with the one I requested, I admit I really loved this particular set I saw at Market.
Just as I was leaving the showroom, I spotted designer Amber Lewis who has a new line with Loloi, getting ready to sign books. Her work has been so inspirational, so it was pretty awesome to catch a sighting!
Crystorama Showroom
My amazing sponsors Crystorama invited me to join them in the showroom to interview designer Libby Langdon, and HGTV designer Brian Patrick Flynn. They both have incredible lines of lighting with Crystorama.
Instead of a traditional interview, I thought it would be fun to play a game of ‘This or That’ with Libby and Brian. Watch the hilarious results that I posted to Instagram here:
Of course I had to take a moment to peruse Crystorama’s beautiful collection of light fixtures. Especially the outdoor fixtures since I’ll be doing both an indoor and outdoor area!
Thanks so much to Crystorama for having me! I always have a blast partnering with them during High Point Market!

Shed Progress
I’m loathe to admit that there is less done on the inside of the shed than I anticipated by this halfway point.
Last week I deconstructed the storage in the room. Including some overhead storage, and that workbench you see at the back of the room. I know it sounds crazy to remove those items, but it will make sense when the space is completed.
I am repurposing all that wood to build closets/cabinets with doors that close. Since this has to be a functional potting shed, and also turn into a stylish garden house, it’s best that tools are stored out-of-sight and in a super organized fashion.
As for the deck, I am going shopping this coming week in hopes of finding some French doors that will open up the shed to the deck.
I received a fantastic outdoor sectional from Kirklands that I can’t wait to grace the deck with! And some other incredible products I’ll be unboxing for you next week. So stay tuned!
Weekly Product *Sneak Peek*
Crystorama provided me these stunning Fulton 3-Light Antique Gold Pendants! They are so chic, I can imagine them really making a statement in the garden house.
I decided to go with these wonderfully oversized pendants because of the height of the shed ceilings. You don’t want a fixture to be dwarfed in the space, so bigger fixtures like these make a perfect statement. They will also do a great job of lighting up the space.
The gold/metal components give a contemporary flair to an otherwise traditional shade. I can’t wait to get them up!
Notice the chandelier in my dining room? It is also from my friends at Crystorama and it really stands out in the room!
Lighting is a necessary function in each room, so why not also use it to bring a certain warmth and charm to the space as well?
